THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister C.P. John described the late Comrade U. Vikraman—founding leader and former State President of the Kerala Journalists Union (KJU)—as a principled journalist and an exceptional organizer. He was speaking after inaugurating the U. Vikraman Commemoration Meeting organized at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club.
Sharing memories from their student days working together in left-wing student movements, the Minister recalled that while he was active in the SFI, Vikraman was in the AIYF. He added that even back then, he admired Vikraman as an outstanding leader, and later in his journalism career, Vikraman remained a personality who stood firmly for the truth.
Presiding over the function, CPI leader and former MP Panyan Raveendran remembered Vikraman as a dedicated journalist completely free of political ambition.KJU State President Josi Thumbanath, State General Secretary A.P. Shafeeq, State Coordinator P.K. Ratheesh, National Council Member Shivashankara Pillai, Thiruvananthapuram Press Club Secretary Praveen, Senior Journalists Forum President K. Sasidharan, P.
