“Save Journalism Day” Observed in Andhra Pradesh!
APUWJ 67 th foundation day has been observed today as “Save Journalism Day” in Andhra Pradesh.
Hundreds of Journalists have taken part in different kinds of activities across the state.
As per the reports received by the state headquarters of the APUWJ by this evening programs were held in about 70 centers in the state.
It is known to everyone in the IJU that the APUWJ was established in 1957 on 17th August at Hyderabad.
Union has made it a tradition to celebrate foundation day on 17 th August every year in a big way.
This time the state EC of the APUWJ has decided to observe foundation day (67th) as “Save Journalism Day” in order to propagate the “Save Journalism” idea envisaged by the recent meetings of the All India Newspapers employees , News Agencies and Employees Confederation.
Responding to the call given by the APUWJ, all its district units , affiliated Press Clubs have organised flag hoistings, rallies , round table meetings , awareness sessions and Social service activities.
On this occasion Senior journalists were honoured and felicitated at many centers in the state.
At Some places APUWJ members visited old-age homes , orphanages and distributed medicines , milk , bread , fruits , groceries, blankets , etc.
Members has participated in “Van mahotsav” at some centers and planted saplings in a big way.
The APUWJ President Com I.V.Subba Rao has participated in a round table meeting at karnool.
General Secretary Com Chandu Janardhan has participated in the flag hoisting program and addressed the meeting organised at Vijayawada.
Com D.Soma Sundar ,Secretary, IJU has participated in a Round table meeting at Tadepalligudem town.
Come Nalli Dharma Rao , Com Dr M.Prasad , both members of the IJU NEC have participated in seminars and meetings organised at Srikakulam , Thirupati respectively.
Com D.Amar , member Steering committee of the iJU, Com Y. Narendra Reddy Secretary of the IJU and other leaders of the union has participated in a program where The Statue of Com MC is garlanded and paid rich tributes to him at Jubilee hills Journalists colony , Hyderabad.
